OK...so I work and work and work and work and don't post to my blog. I am remedying that right now however. For one, I made myself a totally delicious and quick dinner tonight which I wish to share.
You have to follow along because this is just how I cook:
I started a small pot of water boiling for some angle hair spaghetti--no salt, no oil. As that was coming to a boil, I added about a cup of spaghetti to the water. Then, I took a small head of broccoli and sliced it up into a skillet with some hot olive oil--a sort of stir-fry situation. As the veggies were turning bright green, I threw in some smoked sweet paprika (1/2 teaspoon? maybe?) and two cloves of garlic. By this time, the pasta was ready; so, I drained it and then tossed it in with the broccoli. Let that fraternize a bit and then unceremoniously dumped it onto a good sized plate. I finished the pasta off with both some fresh squeezed lemon juice and a fair amount of shaved reggiano cheese. Oh, I salted it a little at the end.
TA-DA! an excellent meal. If you were having company, you could diversify the veggies a little and make a yummy salad to go with it but it was pretty frickin' good as is. The combination of the smoky paprika, the fresh lemon, and the salty/tangy cheese pretty much rocked.
