Get ready one and all...Yes, I'm posting. Crazy I know. I hope that some of you remember that I exist. I haven't given up writing or art completely...It's just that my entire life is now consumed with a new 'hobby.' Ever since joining Vancouver's Carnival Band, I find much of my time consumed in playing music I deeply love. In the next few weeks, I hope to be more active on this blog describing what I see going on around me. My plan, in part is motivated by the fact that my city is about to be the focus of so much attention these next few weeks. Last week, I had my first taste of Olympic 'noise' as I was interviewed by CBC regarding a tent with a Canada logo on it. This experience has stuck in my mind for a couple of reasons I suppose. I'm expecting the rest of February to be full of such noise and I'm going to be helping create some of it myself. I'm hoping to mostly create the beautiful noise we humans occasionally refer to as music but I am left with a sense of wonder and slight unease at what is to come. I hoping that writing about it will help me sort it out for myself.
