Romeo, Romeo wherefore art thou...

Went and saw the Vancouver Opera's Romeo and Juliette production.  I couldn't help it, the show sort of annoyed me.  For one, the last scene featured some intense from above lighting that was reminiscent of so many bad alien abduction scenes.  The other thing is, I couldn't stop thinking that in the crypt, if Romeo had just tried giving Juliette a little head before he drank that potion, he might have successfully roused her *before* poisoning himself.  Then I started to think, "Well, par for the course really.  Juliette "dies" before he even arrives on the scene.  He "dies" too quickly and she has to do all the work to "die" a second time."  Shameful.
